Established in 1981, ‘Basu’s Clinic’ has grown into a 65 bedded multi specialty Nursing Home open to all with three well equipped Operation Theatres, a separate Delivery Management wing, Special Care Unit, a Pediatric Care Unit and Outdoor consultation department. Other facilities include a Pathological laboratory, a Radiological unit providing X-Ray and USG and a well stocked Pharmacy [run by M/s Medicine Booth].

In 2010, Basus Clinic was taken over by M/s Basus Clinic Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., a Company registered under the Companies Act, 1956. [Run by Medicine Booth].

An Obstetrician and Gynecologist by Profession, Dr. A. K. Basu, completed his MBBS & MS from Calcutta University before leaving for England in 1975. He returned home to Siliguri in 1979 after completing MRCOG, to pursue his profession. In 1981, he established a small nursing home at his parental home in Subhaspally, Siliguri and later shifted it to its present site at College Para in 1986. In 1988 he was conferred the Fellowship [FRCOG] of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, London. He has also been conferred the Fellowship [FACS] of the American College of Surgeons, the Fellowship [FICS] of the International College of Surgeons and the Fellowship [FICOG] of the Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Besides being a successful medical professional & an entrepreneur, Dr. Basu is also a poet of recognition, with a number of published works in Bengali. His poems have been published by a number of eminent Bengali literary magazines. Dr. Basu has also held positions in a number of professional & social organizations over the years.
